Some things we did in 2019 at the Library Story Time and Activities
June 20, 2019 - Made and created art with Sidewalk Chalk.. Then, we played games by identifying and sorting different groups of items in tubs.
June 27, 2019 - Watched a YouTube video about Independence Day (4th of July) and why we celebrate it. The kids made posters about Independence day. - Fun facts: Did you know the first flag had 13 stars for the 1st 13 colonies, the Teddy bear was named after Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, and that Thomas Jefferson introduced macaroni and cheese.
July 3. 2019 Made sun catchers & played with bubbles.
July 18, 2019 A Fishing We Go - Read "Fishing with Foster" by Turner Bowman. We went fishing in a kiddy pool to catch magnetic toys.
July 25 Master Chef Jr., No-bake Cooking using a recipe from the computer, we made Marshmallow and Peanut Butter cookie bars
August 1, 2019 We Love Nature! - We played with modeling compound and made turtles, butterflies, snakes and other items. No picture taken...the photographer was having too much fun with the kids.
August 8, 2019 Celebrating Reading - Awards & Lunch for "Summer Reading Program" We discussed books we read during the summer, created our own book, received rewards for our BINGO reading charts, and ate lunch.
Elmendorf Christmas Parade December 2019
Participants of the Library enjoyed constructing and riding on the parade float on December 7, 2019. Our theme was Alaska Winter. There were 19 library supporters on the float. The parade route stretched from 1604 and Old Corpus Christi Rd. to the Elmendorf City Park.
